Libyan government invited Russian oilmen to return to dialogue

TRIPOL, Jan 26 – Novosti. Libya’s Tripoli-based Government of National Unity (GNU) is inviting Russian oil companies to return to negotiations with the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), GNU Oil Minister Mohammed Aoun told Novosti.
“The Tatneft and Gazprom companies received exploration plots. However, it seems that after February 17 (2011, the anniversary of the revolution that led to the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi – ed.), they faced force majeure and never returned to this … We invite companies to return and, perhaps, these companies will return and enter into negotiations with the NOC,” the source said.
