
MEXICO CITY, Oct 1 – Novosti. The participants of the XIV conference of Russian compatriots in the countries of America, New Zealand and Australia in the final document called on Russian parliamentarians to develop and introduce into the legislation a legal definition of the term “Russophobia”.
“To ask the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, on the basis of the right of legislative initiative, to develop a legal definition of the term “Russophobia” for the use of this term in the legislative framework of the Russian Federation and the further application of this wording in international law,” the resolution adopted by the participants in Costa Rica says conferences.
As Russian Ambassador to Costa Rica Yury Bejanyan told Novosti , the anxiety of the conference participants due to the development and strengthening of Russophobia in many countries, as well as the unacceptable actions of the authorities that humiliate and try to abolish Russian culture, history and language, was reflected in specific proposals final document.
“A very important role in this regard, we believe, will be played by the further development of the legislative framework and the practical work of organizations of compatriots and Rossotrudnichestvo so that the rights and interests of our citizens in all respects – from the point of view of the Russian language and from the point of view of the situation in societies where they live, were protected,” Bejanyan said.
