
WASHINGTON, October 1 – Novosti. US President Joe Biden signed into law an interim funding bill for the US government, including $12.4 billion in new aid to Ukraine, the White House said in a released statement.
“The President signed into law the Act to Continue Appropriations and Funding Support for Ukraine in 2023, which will provide funds to federal agencies within the framework of fiscal year 2023 until December 16, 2022 to continue projects and activities of the federal government and fund support to resolve the situation in Ukraine,” – says in the statement.
Earlier on Friday, the bill was passed by the US Congress . It is aimed, among other things, at allocating 12.4 billion in aid to Ukraine, including economic instruments to support the work of the Ukrainian government, funds for military assistance, and US military missions in Europe .
The US fiscal year begins on October 1st.
The Russian Federation has previously sent a note to NATO countries because of the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
