
MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. About 150 children and teenagers from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, who are in temporary accommodation centers located in the Moscow, Kaluga, Tula and Vladimir regions, visited the Russian State Children’s Library on Saturday, according to the official website of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
“On October 1, 2022, the Russian State Children’s Library was visited by about 150 children and adolescents from the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, who are in temporary accommodation facilities located in the Moscow, Kaluga, Tula and Vladimir regions,” the report says.
As noted on the portal of the department, an interactive tour of the library was held for children and master classes were held by young illustrators. The theatrical program – a lesson from the “School of Children’s Writers” – was conducted by writers Andrey Usachev and Galina Dyadina, illustrator Evgeny Antonenkov and author of children’s songs, composer Alexander Pinegin.
In addition, in the summer of 2022, the “First Book” library car of the Russian State Children’s Library with writers, illustrators, teachers, psychologists and specialists in introducing children to reading made ten trips to temporary accommodation centers for children and adolescents from the DPR and LPR in Moscow, Kaluga, Tula and Vladimir regions. During each of them, interactive readings, master classes in creating illustrations, and sessions with psychologists were held. Also, sets of children’s and teenage literature – works of classics and contemporary authors – were handed over to temporary residence points.
Meetings of writers and illustrators with children from the DPR and LPR, as noted on the website of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, were held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives as part of the project “The First Book Book Comes to Children.”
