MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. European countries have become absolutely dependent on the United States on the issue of policy towards Russia, this can turn into a real disaster not only for them, but for the entire world community, writes the Chinese edition of Global Times .
“It is an absolute tragedy for Europe that its dependence on Washington has increased to such an extent that it has to dance to the tune on issues related to relations with Moscow. <…> This is catastrophic for it and the world as a whole, as it can lead to a terrible imbalance situation and prevent the normalization of the situation in Ukraine,” the publication says.
The article notes that it was under the US decree that European governments made it their main task to combat the so-called Russian threat, while completely forgetting about economic interests.
In addition, Washington is trying in every possible way to use Europe to avoid the worst-case scenario of an economic crisis in its own country.
“When the conflict in Ukraine escalated, many Europeans thought that they, along with the Americans, were opposing the Russians. But reality proved them wrong: Europe is another piece of meat on the US cutting board,” the author of the text summed up.
After the start of the special operation, the West stepped up sanctions pressure on Moscow, which led to an increase in prices for electricity, fuel and food in Europe and the United States. Vladimir Putin said that the restrictions imposed dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
