MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. The Chinese diplomatic representative in Lebanon, Cao Yi, on Twitter ridiculed the Western assessment of the explosions on the Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines and hinted at US involvement in the incident.
In the picture published by Cao Yi, the crowd answers the questions: “Who hates Russian pipelines? – USA! – Who tried to prevent their construction? – USA! – Who said that he would destroy them? – USA! – Who benefits from destruction? – USA! “Who destroyed them? We have no idea!”

A gas leak was discovered on September 26 at Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 , and in four places at once. According to the operator Nord Stream AG, the accident is unprecedented and it is impossible to estimate the timeframe for repairs.
The Kremlin called the incident an act of international terrorism. According to President Vladimir Putin , “sanctions are not enough for the Anglo-Saxons”, they have begun to destroy the pan-European energy infrastructure.
Pumping through the Nord Stream has been suspended since the end of August due to problems with the repair of Siemens turbines caused by Western sanctions. But the pipeline remained filled with gas, as did Nord Stream 2 , which was completed in 2021 but never entered service.
