MOSCOW, Oct 1 – Novosti/Prime. Delivery of goods by road from the EU countries, as well as the UK, Norway and Ukraine through the territory of the Russian Federation will be carried out by reloading goods or re-hooking a semi-trailer to Russian and Belarusian trucks, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation said .
Earlier, from October 10 until the end of the year, the government introduced a ban on road transport of goods by transport from the EU countries, Great Britain, Norway and Ukraine.
” Delivery of goods by road from unfriendly countries to final recipients across Russia will continue . (or reattach a semi-trailer) to Russian and Belarusian vehicles,” the ministry explained.
The Ministry of Transport clarified that these rules do not apply to the Kaliningrad region , if the international transportation of goods is carried out from the territory of foreign states to the Kaliningrad region or vice versa.
At the same time, foreign trucks through the territory of Russia will continue to be allowed to transport goods to the final destination if their consumer properties may be lost or deteriorated in the event of reloading or rehooking the semi-trailer, as well as goods whose transportation using reloading or rehooking is technically impossible . In particular, this applies to perishable goods, products of the pharmaceutical, medical industry and a number of others, the ministry stressed.
“The rules introduced on October 10 became a response to the sanctions ban on the movement of Russian cargo carriers across the territories of the EU countries from April 8, 2022. Thus, now carriers from Russia and unfriendly countries will work on an equal footing,” the Ministry of Transport added, commenting on the ban.
