E-Control says gas flows to Austria remain constant

VIENNA, Oct 1 – Novosti. Interruptions in gas transit to Italy do not affect supplies to Austria, regulator E-Control said on Saturday.
“Interruptions in gas transit to Italy, but gas flows to Austria remain constant. The filling of storage facilities continues,” the agency’s website says.
Earlier, Gazprom reported that gas supplies under the contracts of Gazprom Export through Austria were stopped due to the refusal of the Austrian operator to confirm the transport nominations, the reason is related to the regulatory changes that took place in the country at the end of September. Earlier, the Italian Eni reported that Gazprom would not be able to supply gas to Italy on Saturday because of the “impossibility of transporting it” through Austria.
“The situation does not affect the security of supply – neither in Austria nor in Italy … There is no reason to worry,” the Austrian edition of Kleine Zeitung quotes an E-Control representative. According to the publication, Austria continues to receive gas from Russia and, according to contracts, also supplies it to Italy.
Austrian oil and gas company OMV also confirmed that gas continues to flow to Austria. It’s coming in “significantly more than was last announced,” Kleine Zeitung quoted a company spokesperson as saying.
