Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia says unknown people are using him “deepfake”

MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. Former US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul said that someone is using his deepfake copy to undermine Ukraine’s efforts.
According to the former ambassador, the unknowns are using an AI-generated deepfake model that looks and sounds like him. McFaul can be contacted at a specific phone number.
“This is not me. This is a new Russian weapon of war,” McFaul wrote on Twitter , adding at the same time that he did not know the identity of the perpetrators.
“Perhaps they are just hooligans. But the questions they ask are obviously aimed at undermining Ukraine’s diplomatic and military measures,” the ex-ambassador added.
Previously, McFaul has already stated that someone, impersonating him, contacted a number of Ukrainian officials.
