
MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. The CEO of the Turkish company Baykar, Haluk Bayraktar , said that the Baykar plant in Ukraine will produce a high-altitude long-range model of Bayraktar Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which are not in service with Ukrainian troops.
“The Baykar plant in Ukraine will assemble both the existing Bayraktar TB2 drone model and the Bayraktar Akıncı high-altitude long-range model, which has not yet been delivered to Ukraine,” Espreso.tv quoted Bayraktar as saying.
According to him, work on the creation of the Baykar plant in Ukraine continues, despite the ongoing events, plans to release new models.
“One of the future drone models may get a Ukrainian name,” Bayraktar said.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Ukrainian troops reported that the country should have its own “army of drones” to help the military.
Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar said in August that Baykar would build a plant for the production of Bayraktar strike drones in Ukraine and had already bought land for this. Baykar presented the concept of a plant in the Kiev region . According to Bayraktar, the total area of the Baykar center in Ukraine will be more than 30,000 square meters, and the number of Ukrainian engineers and technicians will be more than 300.
