BERLIN, October 1 – Novosti. In the German capital, during a quarrel, a man killed his wife, who is a native of Ukraine, as the press service of the Metropolitan Police reported on Saturday.
“According to the information currently available, the couple had an argument at around 11:45 a.m. in a refugee shelter on Wollenberger Strasse (in the north-east of Berlin. — Approx. ed.). A man attacked his 44-year-old wife and mortally wounded her,” says in a message on the Berlin police website.
According to law enforcement officers, the woman is a citizen of Ukraine, she was in Germany in the status of a refugee.
German media who arrived at the scene report that neighbors who witnessed the incident suggest that the woman was killed with a kitchen knife.
“Witnesses who heard the quarrel contacted the police. The person who arrived along with it managed to detain the 50-year-old suspect not far from the crime scene,” writes the Berliner Zeitung newspaper.
Neighbors also saw the couple’s two children, in whom, in all likelihood, the crime occurred. According to the police, the minors were handed over to guardianship authorities.
