MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. The electronic driver’s license has been launched in test mode in Russia since Saturday – now it can be presented through the mobile application “Gosuslugi Avto”.
Earlier, the head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia, Mikhail Chernikov , announced the introduction of an electronic driver’s license in Russia. According to him, it will be possible to do this from October 1 in the State Services Auto mobile application. Digital rights will work in experimental mode.
Chernikov also stated that in order for the electronic document to become fully legal, the necessary amendments to the traffic rules are being prepared. In addition, work is underway to distribute the service throughout the country, including offline.
Earlier, the head of the traffic police announced that an electronic driver’s license would be introduced before the end of the year. Then he expressed the hope that the majority of road users would use it.
