In Russia, the fare in the reserved seat has risen

MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. Tariffs for the travel of passengers in reserved seat and common long-distance carriages in Russia will increase by 6.52% from October 1 (by no more than 90 rubles per passenger). This indexation was approved by the Federal Antimonopoly Service at the end of September.
The order of the Federal Antimonopoly Service provides for the indexation of tariffs, fees and charges for work (services) of the Russian Railways, the Federal Passenger Company, the Sakhalin Passenger Company, Yakutia Railways and Grand Service Express (operator of passenger transportation to Crimea ).

The FAS press service explained that the average annual indexation rate will be 6%, which is more than half the inflation expected in 2022, and in terms of one passenger, the additional load will not exceed 90 rubles.
The department noted that the decision will improve the transport accessibility of rail transportation to the regions, as well as purchase modern rolling stock.
Tariffs for long-distance passenger transportation in reserved seats and general carriages are regulated by the state, they are indexed annually at a level not higher than inflation. Earlier in 2022, these tariffs were already indexed by 4.3%.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development , inflation in Russia by the end of 2022 will be 12.4%.
