Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida instructed the responsible ministries to conduct a detailed analysis of the situation in connection with possible missile launches by the DPRK and inform the people in a timely and detailed manner, the office of the head of the Japanese government said.
“In connection with the missile test of North Korea, the Prime Minister ordered to act in three directions: to make every possible effort to collect and analyze information and carry out timely notification of the population, to ensure the security of air and sea transport, and to take all necessary measures in case of unforeseen circumstances,” the statement said.
Earlier, the Japanese Coast Guard reported that two, presumably, DPRK ballistic missiles were fired towards the Sea of Japan . The current launch of North Korean missiles fell on South Korea ‘s Armed Forces Day, October 1st .
On September 28 and 29, North Korea also launched short-range ballistic missiles at a maximum altitude of 30-50 kilometers with a range of 300-350 kilometers. On Sunday, September 25, North Korea also fired a ballistic missile for the first time since June 5 this year.
The current North Korean missile launches are taking place against the backdrop of planned anti-submarine exercises by South Korea, the United States and Japan involving the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan .
