MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. Twitter users were outraged by the statement of British Prime Minister Liz Truss about her readiness to impose new sanctions against Russia after joining the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Truss previously wrote on the social network that she was ready to take further measures without hesitation, including imposing new sanctions to paralyze “the war machine of (Russian President. – Approx. ed.) Vladimir Putin “. She also added that the UK will “never recognize” the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as part of Russia.
Users considered such words inappropriate, urging them to stop spending money on Ukraine and pay more attention to the country’s internal problems.
“You don’t voice the opinion of the majority, and you certainly don’t represent my interests. Why not ask the British in what direction we want to go? You supported the illegal Ukrainian regime for eight years, and now you are putting us in danger. <…> From me enough!” — wrote a commentator.
“Why not do something for the British and stop sending money to Ukraine?” – the second was indignant.
“Her words can be deciphered something like this: the government will not hesitate to spend our money on weapons and other things while we are in trouble,” complained a third.
“Your sanctions against Russia harm Britain more. You should have tried to conclude a peace agreement, but from the very beginning you escalated, saying that you support British citizens who decided to take part in the hostilities in Ukraine,” said another user.
“Liz, the sanctions had no effect. Why not try to talk instead? By the way, I think you need to leave your post,” the reader emphasized.
“Each of your tweets is about Ukraine. Does that mean you work for it?” asked another.
From 23 to 27 September in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, in Kherson and in the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye region , referendums were held on joining Russia. In all these regions, the overwhelming majority of those who voted were in favor. On September 30, President Vladimir Putin signed treaties on the admission of new territories to Russia.
