BUENOS AIRES, Oct 1 – Novosti. Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, in case of victory in the presidential elections, the first round of which will be held on October 2, will help Argentina enter the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), says a professor at the Argentine National University of Villa Maria, political scientist Silvina Irusta.
According to her, in terms of foreign policy, Lula da Silva will follow the path of building strategic alliances, primarily with the countries of Latin America.
“One of the points of this plan should be a strategic alliance with Argentina so that Argentina, with the support of Brazil, joins the BRICS,” she told Novosti.
Argentine President Alberto Fernandez announced the country’s intention to join the BRICS at the association’s summit on June 23-24.
