Nebenzya: investigation of the emergency at Nord Stream cannot take place without Russia

UN, October 1 – Novosti. The Russian Federation, Germany, Denmark and Sweden could conduct an investigation into the sabotage on the threads of the Nord Stream system – any investigation without Russia would raise doubts about its objectivity, Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, told reporters.
“Any investigation that would be conducted cannot, by definition, be without the participation of the Russian Federation. Because the Russian Federation is the owner of the pipeline, Russia is the most interested (in the investigation – ed.) Party. If someone thinks that it is possible to conduct an investigation without participation in it RF, we have reasons to doubt the objectivity of this investigation,” Nebenzya said.
Answering the question about who will conduct the investigation, he pointed out: “Obviously, the countries in whose territorial waters this sabotage occurred, which are Denmark and Sweden. Russia is the owner of the gas pipeline and the party most interested (in the investigation – ed.), and Germany, who are the main beneficiaries of these pipelines.”
Speaking about whether to conduct an investigation under the auspices of the UN, Nebenzya said: “I don’t think so. I don’t think the UN has anything to do with this.”
