
ANKARA, Oct 1 – Novosti. Over 2 million tourists from Russia arrived in Turkish Antalya in January-September, the growth of the tourist flow amounted to 57% compared to the same period last year, Anadolu agency reports , citing the Antalya Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
“Antalya hosted 11,027,094 tourists between January 1 and September 30. Turkey ‘s tourist capital is experiencing the busiest period in tourism since the coronavirus pandemic. In a region famous for its warm sea, sand, sun, historical sites, ancient cities and natural beauty, tourists flock from all over the world, which undoubtedly pleases representatives of the tourism sector,” the agency writes.
It is specified that the growth of the tourist flow this year amounted to 57% compared to the same period last year.
“In September this year, 1,989,154 people arrived in Antalya against 1,732,304 in the same period of 2021. Thus, the growth of tourist flow to this tourist region in September amounted to 15%. The largest number of tourists in January-September of this year arrived in Antalya from Russia – 2,339,536. Next come tourists from Germany – 2,195,860 and the UK – 952,246. The top 10 also includes Poland , the Netherlands , Kazakhstan , Romania , Israel , the Czech Republic and Denmark,” the publication clarified.
