Passenger catamaran ran aground off Russky Island

VLADIVOSTOK, October 1 – Novosti. The catamaran “Moskva”, which was going from Vladivostok to Popov Island, ran aground in the Stark Strait near Russky Island in heavy fog, a representative of the mayor’s office told Novosti.
The ship was not damaged, he said.

“The Lotos ship and a barge are moving to the area of ​​the incident. After all the passengers are transferred to another transport, work will begin to refloat the catamaran,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

In the morning there was fog on Russky Island. Judging by the photo in social networks, the incident occurred a few dozen meters from the coast.
There were 174 passengers and four crew members on board. None of them were injured, all were successfully evacuated.
The prosecutor’s office began to check the compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the safety of navigation.
