MURMANSK, October 1 – Novosti. The Danish Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador to itself because of the referendums in the east of Ukraine and the annexation of these regions to Russia.
“Denmark will never agree with Russia’s attempt to change the borders of Ukraine with the help of military force. This message should be absolutely clear to the Kremlin. Therefore, I decided to call the Russian ambassador for a conversation,” said Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod.
According to him, the Danish side considers the referendums in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions illegal and violating international law.
Referendums on accession to Russia were held in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, in Kherson and in the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye region from 23 to 27 September. The vast majority of those who voted were in favour. On September 30, President Vladimir Putin and the heads of these regions signed agreements to incorporate the new territories into Russia.
