“This is a very difficult genre, not every actor can cope with it,” says Yana Arkova, art manager of the SOLO festival. “An artist from the stage enters into a duel with the audience and very often wins. man. He holds the hall with his energy and strength.”
This year the festival has a big program: according to Arkova, the organizers received more than 120 applications for participation, from which they chose 19 works.
The themes addressed by SOLO participants this year are very different, but almost all of them turn to the understanding of Russian culture. The Tyumen Theater analyzes the identity of Van Gogh, “Search” from Lesosibirsk is trying to unravel the mystery of Pushkin’s heritage, taking Fyodor Dostoevsky, Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Daniil Kharms into the company of “investigators”. The Drama & Physical Theater project from Moscow explores Dostoevsky through light and sound effects. Yana Likhotina from Vologda tells about the tragic fate of Varlam Shalamov and his poetry.
