PATRIOT CENTER (Moscow region), October 1 – Novosti. Students of commercial universities with state accreditation will not be called up during partial mobilization in Russia, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
“Supplements to the presidential decree have now been prepared. You know that, in accordance with the presidential decree, students of state universities do not participate in mobilization,” Shoigu told reporters.
He explained that “students of commercial universities accredited by the state are not involved in the mobilization.” “They will not be called up for mobilization. On behalf of the president, today we are completing the preparation of amendments to the decree, and this will be introduced today,” the head of the Russian military department added.
In the Moscow region, Shoigu, together with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, checked the preparations and conditions for the placement of mobilized citizens. The Minister personally inspected the places of accommodation for citizens called up from the reserve and volunteers, equipped on the basis of the Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center and the Avangard training and methodological center for military-patriotic education of youth in Kubinka near Moscow.
The governor of the Moscow region stressed that the current task of the authorities is to take care and provide everything necessary in terms of everyday life and make sure that combat coordination is clearly practiced. “Yesterday we visited the Tamanskaya division, today at the shooting range – we see that the attitude to everything is serious. For our part, we are understaffing some things, but in general the equipment is produced by the Ministry of Defense – everything is in order here. We add what is required, what some nuances,” the governor’s press service quoted Vorobyov as saying.
