MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. The high level of gas consumption by private German households threatens with a shortage of blue fuel in the coming winter, the head of the Federal Network Agency (German regulator) Klaus Müller said in an interview for the Frankfurter Allgemeine .
“The rate of private gas consumption is growing too fast, even despite the sharp rise in prices. German consumers are now using 15 percent more fuel than last year. Regardless of whether we are in for a warm or cold winter, we need at least 20 percent savings So far, we are far from this figure,” Muller stressed.
He warned that if private households were not more frugal, then the whole of German industry would suffer.
Biting prices lead to a significant reduction in production. Germany has organized LNG supplies from many parts of the world, but all this is not enough to replace Russian fuel,” the head of the federal agency added.
After the start of the Russian special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, the West stepped up sanctions pressure on Moscow . Many countries have announced the freezing of Russian assets and have begun to work out ways to abandon energy from Russia . These measures turned out to be problems for Europe and the United States , provoking an increase in food and fuel prices.
