MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree banning the transportation of goods to companies from countries that have introduced transport restrictions against Russia. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
“Establish a ban on the implementation of international road transport of goods across the territory of the Russian Federation by vehicles belonging to foreign carriers registered in foreign states,” the text of the resolution says.
It is clarified that the ban will affect the member countries of the European Union, the UK , Norway and Ukraine and will be valid from October 10 to December 31, 2022.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the delivery of goods by road from these countries will be carried out by reloading goods on Russian and Belarusian trucks.
“To do this, in the customs terminal complexes in the border areas in the Pskov, Kaliningrad, Leningrad and Murmansk regions, the Republic of Karelia and St. Petersburg, goods from foreign cars will be reloaded (or a semi-trailer. – Note ed.) to Russian and Belarusian vehicles “, the department explained.
The ministry added that these rules do not apply to the Kaliningrad region if the international transportation of goods is carried out from the territory of other countries to the Kaliningrad region or vice versa.
At the same time, foreign trucks will still be able to transport goods across Russia to their final destination, if their consumer properties may be lost during reloading or re-trailing of the semi-trailer. We are also talking about goods, the transportation of which using these methods is technically impossible. This applies to perishable products, as well as goods of the pharmaceutical, medical industry and some others, the Ministry of Transport emphasized.
After the start of the Russian special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, the West stepped up sanctions pressure on Moscow. Many countries have announced the freezing of Russian assets and began to work out ways to abandon energy from Russia. These measures turned out to be problems for Europe and the United States, provoking a sharp increase in food and fuel prices.
The day before, speaking at the signing ceremony of treaties on the entry of new territories into Russia, Vladimir Putin said that Washington expected to stage a sanctions blitzkrieg against Moscow and “build” the whole world again, but such a prospect “excites far from everyone.”
