MOSCOW, October 1 – Novosti. The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, said that he was in favor of an even greater militarization of the country and that there should be a cult of the military in it.
“I have always advocated the militarization of Ukraine and I advocate it now, I speak about it quite frankly. Our (country – ed.) security can be ensured solely by our strength. Nothing more,” Budanov said in a video posted on the department’s Telegram channel.
He noted that there should now be a “cult of the military” in the country in order to radically change its perception by society, “it cannot be the same as it was before 2014, when the military was perceived as something frivolous.” The country’s leadership, in his opinion, “sips” the consequences of mistakes made in the past. He quoted the proverb “for two Ukrainians – three hetmans.”
Budanov expressed confidence that now no country in the “civilized world” will be able to “dictate” to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Polish publicist and political scientist Konrad Rankas expressed the opinion in an interview with Ukraina.ru that the statements of the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky , about the further militarization of Ukraine and turning it into the likeness of Israel portend fatal consequences for the Ukrainians themselves and for their neighbors.
