
SIMFEROPOL, October 1 – Novosti. The Sea of \u200b\u200bAzov, with the entry into Russia of the DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, officially became the exclusively inland sea of Russia, said State Duma deputy from the Crimean region Mikhail Sheremet.
President Vladimir Putin spoke in the Kremlin on Friday following the results of referendums in the DPR, LPR , Kherson and Zaporozhye regions , after which he signed agreements on their admission to Russia.
“Now the Sea of Azov has officially become the exclusively inland sea of our country,” Sheremet told Novosti.
According to him, this will put an end once and for all to the plans of the Kiev authorities to arrange provocations in the Azov region, and NATO to place its naval base there.
“Russia is regaining what once historically belonged to it by right,” the deputy stressed.
Referendums on the entry of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the Russian Federation were held on September 23-27. According to the results of processing 100% of the ballots in the DPR, 99.23% of those who voted for joining the Russian Federation, in the LPR – 98.42%, in the Kherson region – 87.05%, in the Zaporozhye region – 93.11%. Russian President Vladimir Putin said last week that Russia would support the decision, which will be made by the residents of Donbass , Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
