KHUTOR ARGATOV (Krasnodar Territory), October 1 – Novosti. Russian entrepreneur Oleg Deripaska told reporters during the Cossack festival that he would provide support to those involved in the development of the Kuban tradition.
Earlier it was reported that the Alexander Fortress, the largest festival of traditional Cossack culture in the post-Soviet space, which includes concerts of authentic and modern folklore, film screenings and performances, opened on Saturday in the Argatov farm in the Krasnodar Territory. The event was organized by Oleg Deripaska’s Volnoe Delo Foundation.
“We will support, as far as possible, in this difficult time, everyone who is interested in developing, studying, maintaining the Kuban traditional culture,” the businessman said.
The main task of Deripaska called the unification of people who are professionally engaged in the development of the Cossack culture, as well as acquaintance of a wider circle with the creativity and finds of the Cossacks. The entrepreneur believes that the traditions of the Kuban culture and the hardworking inhabitants of the region have led to the wealth of the region.
“Our current situation will only encourage these people who were brought up in this culture to come forward and solve problems, which will be very numerous now – we will try to support everyone who is interested in this,” Deripaska said.
The entrepreneur stressed the importance of holding the festival regularly. “We had a break for a hundred years, if we don’t try to return to that tradition, if we don’t try to find those people who will find it dear, we, of course, will lose it,” the businessman concludes.
