Venezuela releases seven Americans from custody, Biden says

WASHINGTON, October 1 – Novosti. US President Joe Biden said on Saturday that the Venezuelan authorities released seven American citizens from custody, who will soon return to their homeland and be reunited with their families.
“Today, after years of illegal detention in Venezuela, we are bringing home Jorge Toledo, Tomeu Vadella, Alirio Zambrano, José Luis Zambrano, José Pereira, Matthew Hit and Osman Khan. These people will soon be reunited with their families and returned to the arms of their loved ones, where they belong,” the head of state said in a statement released by the White House.
The American leader expressed gratitude to the US government agencies for “the hard work that made possible the return of American citizens to their homeland.” “Today we celebrate the day when seven families will be whole again. To all families who are still suffering from being separated from their illegally detained loved ones, know that we remain committed to their release,” Biden said.
The US President also added that the return of American citizens forcibly held abroad is a top priority for his administration.
