MOSCOW, October 2 – Novosti. The chairman of the district council of Epping Forest in the British county of Essex is accused of sending obscene messages to Ukrainian refugees who were placed in British homes in the region, in connection with which the man was suspended from work, the Daily Mail newspaper writes .
It is noted that several Ukrainian refugees accuse 64-year-old Nick Doe of sending them inappropriate compliments, kissing messages, and also offering to stay at his house in Liverpool.
The district council launched an investigation into the actions of the man.
“The bosses are very concerned because there are a lot of women there. Therefore, the resolution of this issue may take a long time,” a source close to the investigation told the newspaper.
Doe himself has so far refused to comment on this story, saying that he cannot talk about it because of the start of the investigation.
This is not the first incident involving Ukrainian refugees in the UK.
Earlier, the story of Briton Anthony Garnett gained resonance in the media due to the fact that he, the father of two children, left his wife 10 days after 22-year-old Ukrainian refugee Sophia Karkadym was settled with them as part of the state refugee program. Later it became known that the couple broke up. The Briton accused Karkadym of alcohol abuse, as well as interfering with his relationship with children. In addition, Garnett shared that he was tired of the “irrational behavior” of the Ukrainian woman. Subsequently, she was detained for trying to kick the door of the former lover’s house.
