
MOSCOW, October 2 – Novosti. More than 1.07 million people have been affected by Typhoon Carding (internationally known as Noru) in the Philippines, according to a report by the country’s National Disaster Management and Risk Management Council (NDRRMC).
Typhoon Carding hit the Philippines on September 25-26. Earlier it was reported that he claimed the lives of 12 people, another 52 were injured. It was also reported that the typhoon affected 911.4 thousand people, among them 47.8 thousand were placed in evacuation centers, almost 60 thousand buildings and structures were damaged, of which about seven thousand were completely destroyed.
Currently, five people remain missing and nearly 46,500 people have been forced to leave their homes, some of them in 26 evacuation centers, according to a new report.
According to the agency, classes in educational institutions were suspended in 734 settlements, work was canceled in 773.
The typhoon damaged 45 roads, 18 bridges and 67 seaports. In 117 cities, power outages were recorded, but in 97 it has already been restored. Damage to 43 infrastructure facilities is estimated at 304.2 million pesos (about $5.17 million).
The elements affected more than 104.5 thousand farmers. Earlier it was reported that crops were destroyed on an area of 166.6 thousand hectares. The damage to agriculture amounted to 3.07 billion pesos (about $52.3 million), according to the report.
