
St. Petersburg, October 2 – Novosti. Elections to the legislative bodies of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will be held on the second Sunday of September 2023, according to the rulings of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation.
“According to Article 7 of the Treaty under consideration, elections to the legislative (representative) body of the Donetsk People’s Republic are held on the second Sunday of September 2023; until the election of the legislative (representative) body of the Donetsk People’s Republic, its powers are exercised by the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic – the parliament of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, – stated in the ruling.
Similar decrees apply to the LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
The Constitutional Court of Russia recognized the treaties on the admission of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions , to the Constitution of the Russian Federation .
