A deep transformation of the economy is taking place in Russia and active work is underway to ensure technological sovereignty, in such conditions the need for qualified personnel is growing, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in his congratulations on the Day of Secondary Vocational Education, which is celebrated for the first time.
“Today, the country is undergoing a profound transformation of the economy, active work is underway to ensure technological sovereignty. Under these conditions, the need for qualified personnel is growing. A project launched on September 1 has been developed to solve important government tasks. Thanks to Professionalism, educational and production clusters have been opened in different regions , where specialists are trained for metallurgy and mechanical engineering, chemical, pharmaceutical and transport industries, nuclear and light industries,” the report says.
In his congratulations, Mishustin noted that at present, secondary vocational education is one of the most popular and prestigious, and graduates of colleges and technical schools are in demand in various fields. The prime minister expressed special gratitude to the teachers and masters of industrial training. “I wish you new achievements, bright discoveries. May the academic year be successful and good luck in all undertakings,” Mishustin stressed.
Mishustin noted that the date for the holiday, which is celebrated for the first time this year, was not chosen by chance. On October 2, 1940, the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR “On State Labor Reserves” was signed, which marked the beginning of the formation of the system of domestic vocational education.
“We are proud of the labor exploits accomplished by graduates of technical schools during the Great Patriotic War, as well as in the post-war period, and on this day we pay tribute to many generations of teachers, masters who stood at the origins of domestic vocational education. And also to those who multiply the glorious pedagogical traditions” Mishustin noted.
