MOSCOW, October 2 – Novosti. The number of people accused of attempting to assassinate Argentine Vice President Cristina Kirchner has risen to four, according to the Argentine newspaper Nación.
On September 1, a man pointed a gun at Kirchner as she got out of her car and walked towards her home in a crowd of supporters. The weapon didn’t work. The police detained the attacker, this is the Brazilian Fernando Sabag Montiel, 35 years old, who has lived in Buenos Aires since the 1990s. Kirchner was not hurt. The attacker’s girlfriend, Brenda Uliarte, was also detained. According to the Infobae portal, it was she who could have planned the assassination attempt on the vice president.
According to the newspaper, on Friday, the court brought charges against an acquaintance of the attacker, Nicolás Gabriel Carriso, and his fiancée’s girlfriend, Agustin Diaz. However, as noted, they were charged as minor accomplices in the attack.
“Fernando Sabag Montiel and his girlfriend Brenda Uliarte are charged as the perpetrators of the attempted murder… Nicolás Gabriel Carriso and Brenda Uliarte’s girlfriend Agustin Diaz were indicted on Friday evening as minor participants,” the publication reports.
The newspaper writes that, according to the investigation, both suspects were not at the scene of the crime, but helped Sabag and his fiancee to plan the assassination attempt.
According to the publication, the investigation into the assassination attempt on Kirchner will continue, the investigation will try to find out if there are still people who could participate in the preparation of the attack, in particular, in its financing.
