ANKARA, October 8 – Novosti. Turkey offered the United States to organize a dialogue between Western countries and Russia, writes Milliyet newspaper columnist Ozai Shendir.
He clarified that this includes such countries as France, Germany and the UK. So far, Ankara has handed over this plan only to Washington, where they reacted positively to this initiative. Nevertheless, the question remains whether “it will be possible to find a Russian interlocutor for such a dialogue.”
According to the author of the article, Ankara “also respects the will of Ukraine” and has always used open channels to explain the need to return to peace “without the use of tactical nuclear weapons.”
“Turkey is turning from a country that can establish a dialogue with both Kiev and Moscow , into a country that can play on this dialogue to achieve a result,” Shandir said. Summing up, he urged not to be surprised if in the near future the West and Russia sit down at the negotiating table thanks to Ankara.
