
LIPETSK, December 8 – Novosti. In the Yelets district of the Lipetsk region, near the village of Nizhny Vorgol, they began to eliminate a landfill with an area of more than 20 hectares. The landfill will be removed by the end of 2023, Governor Igor Artamonov said.
According to the head of the region, the contractor has already started reclamation. The work is being carried out with federal funds as part of the Clean Country project, thanks to which in the Lipetsk region it has already been possible to eliminate landfills with a total area of more than 25 hectares in the Dankovsky district and in Lipetsk . At the expense of regional funds, a landfill with an area of 3.5 hectares in the Terbunsky district and in the village of Yarlukovo in the Gryazinsky district with an area of \u200b\u200b4.4 hectares is currently being reclaimed. In the future, the federal project will allow the removal of two more landfills in the suburbs of Lipetsk.
“The waste management system is being improved in the region. We strive to improve the environment and improve the quality of life of the population of the region,” Artamonov said.
