
SIMFEROPOL, October 9 – Novosti. About 100 Gazelle light-duty trucks and approximately 650 passengers have been transported across the Kerch Strait in both directions since the start of the ferry service, Acting Minister of Transport of Crimea Nikolai Lukashenko told reporters.
“Since yesterday, about 100 units of Gazelle vehicles and 653 passengers have been transported through the ferry crossing by boats and by ferry in two directions,” Lukashenka said.
Boats and ferries now run on the line port “Crimea” – port “Kavkaz”. The first boat with passengers left the Crimea for the Kuban the evening before. At night, the ferry “Kerchinsky-2” has already started working for transporting cars. According to Lukashenka, the Lavrentiy ferry has already arrived in Kerch , which will start transporting trucks and heavy trucks today.
On Saturday, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee ( NAC ) reported that a truck exploded on the Krymsky Bridge in the early morning of October 8, causing the fire of seven fuel tanks of the train. There was a partial collapse of two automobile spans of the bridge. The arch above its navigable part is not damaged, the NAC said. According to preliminary data from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation , three people died as a result of the explosion.
