MOSCOW, October 9 – Novosti. Readers of the British newspaper The Telegraph criticized Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas for calling on Western leaders to refuse any negotiations with the Russian president.
“It is vital for the West to negotiate with Putin, but Biden thinks that nuclear rattling will help him regain ground. He must go,” one user wrote.
“It is terribly funny to hear such statements from the person who ordered the demolition of monuments to the Red Army soldiers who died in the fight against Nazism. This is a crime. Almost a quarter of the inhabitants of Estonia are ethnic Russians who are denied citizenship by the government. Since Estonia was mainly ruled by right-wing nationalist parties, the country ethnic hatred and intolerance prevail,” another reader noted.
“Now the West is led by Eastern European countries; they are fanatical and corrupt. Western countries are being drawn into a war that we will all regret,” the fifth commentator emphasized.
“Ukraine needs to be put in its place and leave some room for adults to negotiate peace before it escalates into a nuclear conflict,” readers concluded.
Kallas has repeatedly spoken out in support of Kyiv, stating that “Ukraine must win this war.” At the same time, she noted that it is increasingly difficult for the European Union to impose sanctions, since there are “not many elements” left against which they could be applied.
