PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, October 9 – Novosti. The first group of mobilized residents of Kamchatka went to the place of service, said the governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov.
“Our fighters were escorted to Moscow. From there they will be redirected to Rostov-on-Don and further to the place of service,” Solodov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Solodov added that the departed men “made the right and at the same time difficult, noble choice, deciding to stand up for the Motherland.”
“We, in turn, will not stand aside and will provide all necessary support measures to the relatives of the mobilized,” the governor said.
In Russia, a partial mobilization has been announced by presidential decree since September 21. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, it is needed to control the 1,000-kilometer line of contact and the liberated territories in Ukraine. During the mobilization, a total of 300,000 reservists will be called up, which is just over 1% of the total mobilization resource of the Russian Federation.
