MOSCOW, October 9 – Novosti. The Ukrainian ambassador in Minsk was handed a note of protest over Kiev’s plans to strike at Belarus, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said .
“On the evening of October 8, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Minsk, Igor Kizim, was invited to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, who was handed a diplomatic note. In the note, the Belarusian side claims that Ukraine allegedly plans to strike at the territory of Belarus,” the website of the Foreign Ministry says.
In Kyiv, these accusations were denied, calling them an insinuation, and the presentation of the note was a “Russian provocation.”
As President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated in early October , Ukraine constantly arranges provocations at the border and pulled about 15,000 troops there. At the same time, Lukashenka stressed that the Belarusian military does not take part in the Russian special operation in Ukraine, and called the task of Minsk to prevent attacks on its territory, including from Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei , in turn, said that Minsk was not going to strike at Ukraine and was interested in ending the conflict as soon as possible.
