Agriculture and the processing industry are demonstrating steady growth under sanctions pressure, the Russian authorities will continue to provide serious support to farmers, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in congratulating industry workers on their professional holiday.
“Today, in the context of the transformation of the economy and external sanctions pressure, agriculture and the processing industry are demonstrating steady growth, successfully solving large-scale tasks, including strengthening the technological independence of the industry,” the prime minister said.
However, according to him, it is necessary to continue to “maintain the momentum, increase productivity, develop breeding, involve new lands in agricultural turnover, and implement projects in the field of breeding and genetics.”
“The government will continue to provide serious support to farmers, improve living conditions in the countryside. To this end, a set of measures has been developed to reduce administrative barriers, provide preferential loans and perpetual rural mortgages. The list of subsidized areas has also been expanded, which will speed up the construction and renewal of enterprises,” added Mishustin.
