KAZAN, October 9 – Novosti. Farmers of Tatarstan have completed the harvesting of grain crops, more than 5.3 million tons of grain have been harvested, the press service of the President of the Republic reports .
“This year, 5.33 million tons have been threshed, in weight after refinement, this is over 5 million tons of grain,” the report says following a meeting in the government of Tatarstan.
Harvesting of crops continues. It is necessary to harvest rapeseed on an area of 16.9 thousand hectares (12% of the area), sugar beet – on 24.3 thousand hectares (49%), potatoes – on 1.9 thousand hectares (42%), other vegetables – on 1.3 thousand hectares (52%). The farmers also started harvesting corn for grain and sunflower.
Currently, 909.6 thousand tons of sugar beets have been dug up with a yield of 354 centners per hectare. 510 thousand tons of sugar beets were delivered to the sugar factories, 350 thousand tons were processed. 54.8 thousand tons of new harvest sugar were produced. In total, it is expected to produce about 250 thousand tons of granulated sugar.
More than half of the potato area has been harvested. The gross harvest is 78.6 thousand tons with an average yield of 293 centners per hectare. Of the 2.5 thousand hectares of vegetables, 1.2 thousand hectares have been harvested, 20 thousand tons of crops have been harvested. Part of the harvested crop is supplied to the trade networks of the republic and sold at Saturday fairs.
At the end of 2021, when most regions of Tatarstan were subjected to drought, 2.3 million tons of grain were harvested in the republic. In 2020, the grain growers of Tatarstan harvested the best harvest in the last 12 years – more than 5.3 million tons of grain.
