The Russians revealed how to increase the pension without working

MOSCOW, October 9 – Novosti. The amount of pension that Russians receive depends on the number of accumulated pension points that are accrued for each year worked. However, in some cases, a person can be awarded points for the period when he did not work, but was engaged in activities important for society, Fatima Dzgoeva, associate professor of the Department of Public Law at the HSE Faculty of Law , told Prime.
This is, in particular, parental leave. For a year and a half, 2.7 points are added for the first child, 5.4 for the second, and 8.1 for the third. Caring for the disabled or the elderly, as well as serving in the army, are estimated at 1.8 points.
“However, all these periods will be counted in the insurance period only on the condition that there was paid work before or after them. Otherwise, they will not be included in the seniority and assessed in pension points,” the lawyer said.
She recalled that pension points can also be bought – for this you need to make voluntary insurance contributions to the PFR . You can buy up to half of the required experience, that is, no more than 15 years.
