
MOSCOW, October 2 – Novosti. More than 200,000 items were handed over by Muscovites to schoolchildren from low-income families, social institutions of the capital, as well as children from the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics as part of the “Let’s Get the Child to School” campaign, according to the Moscow Mayor’s website.
“Citizens helped to gather schoolchildren from low-income families, social institutions of the capital, as well as children from the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics who will study away from home for the new academic year. In total, more than 200,000 stationery, school uniforms, books and other items for schoolchildren were brought to collection points.
It is noted that over 130 organizations took part in the charity event: schools, universities, colleges, non-profit organizations, business representatives, individual entrepreneurs and city structures. In addition, since 2021, the total collection has increased by almost 12 times thanks to new collection points for school items.
