In the Georgievsky Hall of the Kremlin on September 30, following the results of referendums, a ceremony was held to sign agreements on the admission of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics , as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions , to Russia . The documents were signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of these regions Denis Pushilin , Leonid Pasechnik , Evgeny Balitsky and Vladimir Saldo .
On Monday, Medvedev chaired a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, but he began the meeting with a different topic. “Let’s talk with you about those issues that are relevant even against the backdrop of an extremely tense agenda of events in recent days, bearing in mind the historical events that are taking place and that we are witnessing,” he said.
