MOSCOW, October 3 – Novosti. The State Duma at an extraordinary meeting unanimously approved the constitutional laws on the admission to Russia of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions as subjects of the federation.
Vladimir Putin introduced the documents for consideration by the deputies .
From the day the regions are accepted into Russia and until January 1, 2026, a transitional period will apply.
Thus, citizens living in new subjects are guaranteed the right to work, previously issued documents on education, length of service, the right to receive pensions, social and medical assistance are recognized.
By June 1, 2023, territorial branches of federal executive bodies will appear in four regions. During the transitional period, prosecutorial offices will also open there and the Russian judicial system will begin to operate.
The ruble becomes the monetary unit on the territory of the new entities, and the Ukrainian hryvnia is allowed to circulate until the end of this year.
The armed forces, military formations and special agencies operating in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions are proposed to be included in the corresponding Russian units.
Vladimir Putin and the heads of the four regions on September 30 in the Kremlin signed international treaties on the admission of the DPR , LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into Russia.
