MOSCOW, October 3 – Novosti. The pressure in both lines of the damaged Nord Stream gas pipeline and line A of Nord Stream 2 has stabilized, gas leaks have stopped, Gazprom’s official Telegram channel said .
It is noted that now the gas concern is working to reduce pressure in line B of the second Stream.
“To do this, the company pumps out the natural gas in the pipe. This will allow a safe inspection of the integrity of the line B, as well as reduce potential environmental risks in case of possible gas leaks,” the publication says.
Gas leaks at Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 were discovered on September 26 in four places at once in the exclusive economic zones of Sweden and Denmark . According to the operator Nord Stream AG, the accident is unprecedented and it is impossible to estimate the timeframe for repairs. The authorities of Germany , Denmark and Sweden do not exclude that sabotage became the cause of the emergency.
The Kremlin called the incident an act of international terrorism. According to Vladimir Putin , “sanctions are not enough for the Anglo-Saxons”, they have begun to destroy the pan-European energy infrastructure.
Both gas pipelines were not in operation at the time of the accident. Nord Stream was stopped in the summer due to difficulties with the repair and maintenance of Siemens units under the sanctions. The fully built Nord Stream 2 was never launched, having ceased certification of the pipe after the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine . Despite the lack of pumping, all four lines were filled with gas.
