MOSCOW, October 2 – Novosti. Ukrainian troops lost more than 400 people and 43 tanks in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction in a day, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
According to the ministry, in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction, the Kyiv regime attempted to attack simultaneously in the Nikolaev, Andreevsky and Krivoy Rog tactical directions.
“During the day of active hostilities in the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih direction, Russian troops destroyed 43 Ukrainian tanks, 89 units of other military equipment and over 400 Ukrainian servicemen,” the ministry said.
They clarified that the most active offensive operations by forces of up to six battalions of Ukrainian troops, including two tank ones, were carried out in the direction of the settlement of Davydov Brod. At the same time, two reinforced Ukrainian battalion tactical groups launched an offensive against the positions of Russian troops in the areas of the settlements of Bruksinskoye and Kostromka.
“As a result of stubborn defense and massive fire strikes by Russian troops, the enemy offensive in this area was thwarted. 31 tanks, 78 units of special equipment and more than 240 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed,” the Defense Ministry added.
