MOSCOW, October 3 – Novosti. The State Duma at a plenary session on Monday unanimously adopted in the first reading and in general the federal constitutional law on the admission of the Kherson region to Russia and the formation of a new subject of the Russian Federation.
On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in the Kremlin following the results of referendums in the DPR , LPR , Kherson and Zaporozhye regions , after which he signed agreements with their heads on the admission of regions into Russia. Later, the Constitutional Court of Russia recognized these treaties as corresponding to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
The constitutional law on the admission of the Kherson region to the Russian Federation was adopted by the State Duma at an extraordinary meeting.
