MOSCOW, October 3 – Novosti. The State Duma Committee on the CIS, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots recommended that the chamber ratify the treaties on the admission of the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Kherson region and the Zaporozhye region to Russia.
On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in the Kremlin following the results of referendums in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, after which he signed agreements with their heads on the admission of regions into Russia. Later, the Constitutional Court of Russia recognized these treaties as corresponding to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
The admission of a foreign state to Russia should be formalized by a vote of the State Duma and the Federation Council on an international treaty corresponding to the constitutional law, as well as the conclusion of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation on the compliance of the treaty with the fundamental law, Alexander Bashkin , a member of the Federation Council committee on constitutional legislation, explained earlier to Novosti .
This requires, among other things, the adoption by the State Duma of a law on the ratification of an international treaty on the admission of a subject to Russia.
