
DONETSK, October 3 – Novosti. Ukrainian troops fired a rocket from a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system at the Voroshilovsky district in the center of Donetsk, the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine reported .
“Fire was recorded from the side of the armed formations of Ukraine in the direction: 17.29 – settlement Karlovka – Donetsk (Voroshilovsky district): one rocket was fired from the HIMARS MLRS,” the agency’s Telegram channel said.
Earlier, the mayor of the city Aleksey Kulemzin reported about the shelling of the Voroshilovsky district of Donetsk .
The HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) multiple launch rocket system was developed in the USA by BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin in 1996-2000 and has been produced since 2003. Created on the basis of the US Army FMTV three-axle wheeled chassis, it can carry six rockets or one ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missile, the effective firing range for certain types of projectiles is up to 80 kilometers.
